Ministry of New & Renewable Energy is extending its scheme on demonstration of Renewable Energy Systems at places of national and international importance to Golden Temple and Durgiana Mandir Tirath Complex in Amritsar. This was announced by Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah on the occasion of foundation stone laying ceremony of two biomass power projects in Punjab today.
Dr. Abdullah said that the ministry is sanctioning SPV power plant, solar water heaters and 8 battery operated wheel-chairs under the programme to Golden Temple and a SPV power plant at Durgiana Mandir Tirath Complex, Amritsar.
The ministry has also advised the Punjab Government to develop similar proposals for Jallianwala Bagh, Wagah Border and Radha Swami Satsang, Beas, Dr. Abdullah added.
